Damn, I don't think I have ever seen as much rain in a 24-hour period as from 5pm yesterday to today.
I took off to head back to N. AZ Sunday, as the forecast for Monday was possible snow ... didn't get anything Monday though, I guess SoCal first got some Monday and then got hit Tuesday. 5pm Tuesday I could hear it starting to rain; I went to work at 8pm and got pretty wet, at it rained off/on until midnight. After midnight, it was nonstop pourage, until I went home at 4:30am. All morning I could hear it raining, as it kept me up.
At 12:45 I got a call from work (I work for the University Police) telling me I was on call in case things got any worse. Roads all over town and campus were flooding and being closed off.
Not until 4pm did it finally get cold enough to snow, and then it stopped by 5pm [fine by me, I hate snow for the post-storm effects that NEVER FREAKING LEAVE]
According to AZCentral.com, LA got 5.55 inches of rain on Tuesday alone, and apparently there was a Tornado too. Not sure how much we got, weather.com says 0.00 inches on Wednesday
Our Governor declared a state of emergency for my county because the flooding got so out of control, some nice video footage on the front page here:

So how bad was it back in SoCal? Anyone hydrolock their car?
