This thread wasn't about that.
if you wanna try and make someone feel bad about their attitude towards the disaster you should start here:
Irate Over 'Stingy' Remark, U.S. Adds $20 Million to Disaster Aid
WASHINGTON, Dec. 28 - Rejecting a United Nations official's suggestion that it had been a "stingy" aid donor, the Bush administration on Tuesday announced another $20 million in relief for victims of the Asian earthquake and tsunamis and dispatched an aircraft carrier and other ships to the region for possible relief operations.
The announcement brought the United States' total aid package to $35 million so far, and Bush administration officials said much more would be sent.
Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, displaying irritation with the suggestion of American stinginess, said the United States had been the most generous of aid donors in recent years and that, in any case, the sums announced so far were "just a start" of a larger sustained effort.
Now, if we can get back to feeling bad about a few fallen trees and a corvette we'll be back to normal...

Looks like minor front end damage. A dent to say the least and cracked to say the worst. That vette owner is lucky that tree didn't snap in half and totally dessimate the whole top part of that car. :(
But then again, the whole front end suspension might be fucked up.

man lon you had a couple of low blows there, and i thought about responding in kind, i had the flamethrower lit and three paragraphs typed out. but, in order to keep the peace of the land i choose not to rebute any of your statements. please do not mistake my decision as political weakness.

I like the clouds that look like puffy cotton balls. It's also like it when they make shapes like choo-choo trains or doggies.

im not going to go into a geology lesson with you, but if you look at the area on a precise map (ok, i've included one) you will see that there are several islands in the area. Some uninhabited sure, but there were islands with several thousand people living on them wiped clean, no sign of life now. near impossible to get an accurate count those killed. the respective govt's will have to go by their most current census. there are uncounted areas that have not been searched at all yet. there is a very good chance that well over 400k have already been killed or will be die because of injuries, disease, or lack of staple necessities.
im done with this thread, but im not sorry i started a fire.

This thread topic was about the storm we had in San Diego. Let's keep it there. If you want to start a tsuanmi thread, please do so. For clarification, a tsunami is a geological event, not a weather event.
I saw 6 downed light poles on Park Ave today. Musta been a crazy storm. Did anyone else see the tornado warning in LA?

Yes, I saw the warning in LA. Both times.
We're living in the movies!!! Day After Tomorrow... X___x. Tornados in LA.. gosh. It only makes sense though, since the storm moved in quite quickly, and LA/SoCal was pretty much warm and normal up until that point. Warm air + Cool currant = eeeek... *runs*
The tornado warning earlier in the evening was for the Catalina Island area -- which is a lot closer to OC than LA. Later the National Weather Advisory Board cancelled that alert, but to only re-alert another tornado warning near Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Torrance. Winds were going northbound heading towards the actual downtown LA.
