what would you do with $10K and a newly rebuilt mk2 gti 16v?

these may very well become my options when my best friend buys my mk4 next month. i'm leaning heavily towards option A. suggestions?

as for a 16V turbo...
i'd absolutely love to, but i'm 90% sure that this will become my daily driver. granted, it will still probably see itb's, standalone, and kw's by the end of the year, but if i chose to go turbo, i'd already be a few hundred bucks in the hole (i just bought 11:1 forged pistons and other na specific stuff for the rebuild). i'd sooner put less in the bank, buy an 8V jetta and end up having a gti with a daily motor and a jetta with a lysholm powerhosue that i'd be too lazy to swap engines between.

plus, i want to be debt free NOW and a 510 with an rb25det or sr20 swap would be a killer project for next summer :D

Well unless you are financially stable, do what you have to do to keep it running and looking nice, and due to the current economic climate, sit on the rest, my rates on my money market accounts have dropped in half from last year it seems.

EXACTLY. now you're speaking my language. however, i've made my decision. the gti will become my daily for now. i'm gonna put most of the money i make from the sale of my mk4 in the bank, but i will use some for a decent respray, new a/c (the car came with none), a cheap speaker and small sub setup with a tape player or something, and probably some nice coilovers. i also plan to get the title clean, as the car was a stolen recovery. the po had all the records on it, so the hard part (finding all the owners before him) is pretty much finished. the next step is filing the paperwork and scheduling an inspection.

the 510 project will likely come next summer (or sooner if my dad's up for it) once we have less congestion in the garage and driveway (my mom and i each have two cars right now and we're both going to consolidate very soon).
