WTF is up with the needing approval? this is the second time i have posted a legitimate GTG, that never got "approved"

first one was for people on socaleuro with motorcycles, it never got approved, now i made one to do a camping trip over 4th of july weekend....

how the fuck are we supposed to GTG if they never get approved? or is it not worthy of the people of socaleuro?, cause i would bet if they actually made it to the forum people would attend

when you make a post in the events and gatherings threads it says right after you post it subject to approval before it will be posted

I think it was a default after the new RSVP feature went active... should be able to remove it, I don't see a point for it either.

But getting mad is also pointless.

did you post using the "new thread" button or the "new event" button? i tried making a thread for a oc cruise to manic mondays last week and just posting it as a thread made me wait to get it approved, but in the mean time i made a "new event" and it went right through. i thought it was weird too..

And as far as I can tell the new threads don't require moderation.

maybe you did it wrong.
did you create the EVENT from the Calendar?

If you add an EVENT to the calender, it has to be approved, not a thread for a GTG

I'm not sure how things are set up now because it seems like they changed. I've given up on trying to keep things stable.

The events forum did require approval before. It was actually set up like that for quite some time. If your event was not approved, it was our bad for dropping the ball on it.

The intent of the approval process was to keep people from posting up a bunch of threads for the same events or posting random stuff. The events forum was linked directly to the calendar so it made sense to try to keep that forum clean.
