For those interested, AT&T just released the pricing and plan information on the iPhone 3G.

http://www.att.com/iphone

The plan information looks a little sparse to me. I'm sure there will be updates as more information is released.

+$30 per month for Consumer Data Plan :( isnt it like $50 +30, so people are paying $80 plus for their iphone plans? even though the original iphone plans were pretty much same price, they need to bring that monthly price tag down

I only pay $21/month for 500 minutes and unlimited data/text now :(

The consumer and enterprise data plans look about the same as normal pricing. I pay somewhere around the $40 range for unlimited Internet etc for my MotoQ to have all my push email etc. on top of my voice plan. My total bill is around $80 so this should be the same. I'm thinking about switching from the MotoQ to the iPhone 3G when it comes out next month.

I'm just surprised phone plan prices havent come down

Considering im paying $42/month for 2 lines with unlimited data/txt :(

Seems expensive to move back up to paying 4x more a month

I guess imma see if i can find a deal on Sprint Samsung Instinct so i can keep my phone plan at sprint

You've got a really good deal and not many new plans are going to match it so I wouldn't switch if I were you.

I had sprint for many years. Except for when I was on the pioneer program, I always paid more than what you are paying right now and I never had texting or data.

The prices aren't likely to come down much, they just offer more for the same price every 6-12 months.

old Sprint sucked ... i hate pioneer and after it also ... your right ... back then Sprint was horrible

right now, i cant complain ... i pay the basic price for 500 minutes and i dont go over, and once in while i go over, but they only charge $5 for extra 50 minutes instead of per minute charge like before

I'd love to get new ipod, but with those monthly prices, doesnt seem worth changing

Yeah, even on Sprints site Lon, most of the unlimited plans are near $100 for 1 line, which is more than I pay on AT&T, so you have a smoking deal somehow!

yeah ... but kinda sucks cuz im stuck with them ;)

no way im getting rid of sprint until something comes thats that good

Instinct i guess is the best phone for Sprint ... seems to be competitive with iphone for what it is

I am kind of stuck with Verizon since most of my friends and family have vzw as well. I would love to switch to a 3G Iphone but probably the best I can hope for is in a few years when they are no longer just under AT&T.

Maybe, but I don't know about that. What's funny is Apple offered the deal to Verizon first but they turned it down since they didn't want to give up a commission on each new account that was brought in just because of the iPhone. AT&T was all over that and I don't know how long the deal is for. There are unlocked iPhones out there so you might be able to get something working, I just don't know if there is any functionality loss on networks not initially intended for the iPhone.

Sprint/Verizon are on CDMA ... Tmobile/ATT can share phones that are unlocked

basically iphones will never work on non GSM network's until they actually produce them for other networks

Call and talk to a rep. They are helpful. There is a very good chance you don't need unlimited talk. I have unlimited data since I have a smartphone but I have a $40 talk plan with rollover and I never use up my minutes. Especially since most people text nowadays and don't even call. If you call a rep, the will tell you your average usage and recommend a plan. That's what I did before (even although work pays my bill) to keep the price decent.

You must have unlimited everything, unlimited call AND data to be payin that much.
unlimited call is 99 i believe, then more for the data plan.
(If i read it correctly on the site)

Sam ehere, I will actually save money because the corporate plan is only 45 for work e-mail.

That's why you're paying so much. You can't really complain about paying more than everyone else when you buy the biggest package offered.

You can probably get away with a lesser plan that includes unlimited mobile to mobile. We used to have a 2000 minute plan that we would occasionally go over the limit on with sprint. We moved to a 1400 minute plan with cingular that had unlimited mobile to mobile and we don't even come close to using our 1400 minutes.

Its gets hard to stomach when you multiply out how much you spend a year on a cell phone. Right now even with my employee discount and two phone I am around $70 a month with no data. So $840 a year for a cell phone I guess isn't too bad but if I add another $360 a year for data it gets to be a little to much I think.

I'm on Verizon right now with a FamilyShare plan and not under contract. The current plans are more expensive with less minutes, so I'm staying put. Haven't had a reason to change or upgrade my phone. They'll pry my hacked e815 out of my cold, dead hands. Well, at least until the Google Android phones come out. Then I'll reassess the situation w/ my phone and carrier.
