My sister is going up to the mountains tomorrow and is wondering where she can get tire chains and how much they cost

base of the hills. i think if you buy them close to the mountain they can be around 100. but im sure walmart or any store along those lines should have them for around 40 or so.

Check out "Discount Tire" There should be a location near you. they run from about 30 to 80 depending on the style you want. Go to www.tires.com and find a store nearest you and just give them a call. I got mine for my s-10 a year ago and only paid 30 or so for a decent set.

napa has them for $25-$40 pending on the car. No refunds on chains.

for cars look at spending around 40-70, trucks/suv's around 70-140, trucks/suv's w/ huge tires at least 130. prices will vary on which types of chains or which types of cables you want.
you can get them at most sporting goods stores, most automotive stores(kragen, pep boys, autozone, etc.), and yes walmart has them too. wish i could sayi have some for you but im practically all sold out of chains at my shop, all i have are for really rare tire sizes.
