Really looking to get a new rig, have been... Mainly because the rig i'm running right now is pretty failcore. I mean it gets the job done, i'm not a gamer, I used to be, but work and school was in the way, so I stopped.

So I just want a damned nice Laptop that will last me as long as this PC has lasted me... 6 years.

My PC specs:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2800MHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6600
Memory: 1GB
HDD: 160GB 7200RPM

Notebook: ASUS M51 Series M51Sn-C1 15.4" Wide XGA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220342)

Specs:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750(2.00GHz)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS
Memory: 3GB
HDD: 250GB 5400rpm

I think you will be hard pressed to get 6 years out of a laptop really. Seems like a nice system though.

Hmmm well it guess it depends... I wasn't 100% serious... I guess the gap between 2002 and now in terms of gaming hasn't really sped up that much... I mean... Right now, things are speeding up. Back in 1999 when my parents bought a computer for the first time, it was a PII... That thing was horrible 3 years later. This PC has lasted me quite some time and it's just falling apart. Makes a lot of noise lol.

Sounds nice, going to look into it.

Now THAT sounds nice, except i'd swap in a 8800/8900/9600 nV card in. But yeah... Has me thinking. Even has the 64-bit for the full 4GB of RAM...

True....
But mine is more for work. I like the same as cash financing option. That made my decision easier and of course it made me buy more warranty etc. :D

I hope mine lasts 4 yrs. My last one did.

But after 2 yrs it will have more than paid for itself.
