I'm finally giving up on this. I have had the car since 2002. It's been mostly a weekend car for last 4 years, but sitting in my driveway not running for the last 6 months. I thought there was a leak from the head gasket, after putting everything together I haven't been able to get it to run, probably due to timing and a vacuum problem. On top of that the leak was from a freeze plug on the block. anyways here's a list:

1991 VW GTi 16v (NOT a swap)
Odometer broken, at 192,000 (approx. 210,000 on the car)
Full Recaro interior, great condition
Brospeed cat-back exhaust
Momo steering wheel
15x7 Konig wheels
Crystal clear Red/Smoke taillights
Transmission and clutch was changed at 165,000 miles

Note:
Basically brand new 205/50/15 falken ze-512's, less than 1000 miles (approx $400-450)
And when I changed the head gasket, i put on all new oem belts (including timing) and other gaskets involved with the change

Anyways, the car ran really strong before I changed the head gasket. I just don't have the time or money for it. Just put in a little money to rebuild the motor, and your set.

How does the dashboard look under that cover? Any cracks? Was the tranny shifhting ok before the stop running?? Any grinding? Ac works??

one crack on the dash. Tranny had no problems. AC needs to be recharged (uses r12 so I never cared enough to convert it)
