Halo2 + Xbox Live. Worth it ?

Hi,

Typically I prefer 1st person shooters on the PC but is seems like all my non-techy friends are playing multi-player halo2 and I want to join in the fun.

Currently I have a modded x-box with a larger HD so using that xbox is out of the question. Which means I would have to pick up a new Xbox + game + xbox live pack.

Is it really worth it?

fwiw, the only shooter I play these days is Counterstrike (the OG one, not source).

anyway, i'd like to hear feedback from any of your console gamers out there. Would you plop down 200 bones on a console system that you already own? Or would you just wait it out until MS releases halo2 for the PC (if ever) and then just whoop everyone with a mouse and keyboard ?

do it...lunch time at work, we have 3 vs 3 matches (2 Xboxes, system link)...a few people jumped on without halo experience, now they are all about it during lunch time. today i was running behind 2 people, both of them didn't seem me behind them and i melee'd the both of them with my smg...they were mad at me for that one!!! LOL! i need more practice. i think i need to turn up my sensitivity.

To be honest the free trial is a waste of time. for 59.99 your get a 1 year subscription, headset and a game (usually, Crimson Skies) The game itself is 49.99 and if you dont want it sell it on ebay for 15-20 bucks.

Add projekt dc5 ( projekt*space*dc5) to your list. mention socaleuro. For the halo noobs there are a ton of "secrets" glitches. I can show you if you promise not to use them unless there used on you. I hate people that glitch.

I'm on Halo 2 with my friends ALL the time.

We've got a couple sick teams for Team Skirmish and Slayer, and we combine these groups for Big Team Battle sometimes.


We've had it for about 3 weeks and we're all about 8-11s on pretty much everything.

If you guys ever want to play some Skirmish or Big Team Battle the group of guys we play with are 9-12s and we're pretty good about tactics and shit.

If you wanna play team slayer we're also pretty good at that.


And if you don't already know or don't know how... we know some sick tricks to the game like grabbing the flags through walls or jumping to the top of levels you might want to know about.

The safest and best bet is to just get a router.

Or you can unplug your computer from the modem and plug in the Xbox, but that quickly becomes a hassle.

Save yourself the aggrivation and just get a router. If nothing else, you will at least gain a hardware firewall.

I know quite a few of the glitches, Never use them though. Im not fond of "cheaters". Why play if your gonna cheat kinda thing ya know. I only use them when someone useds them against my teams.

You will run a cat5 from one port to the computer another from the next port to your xbox. so on n so forth. You can also run a wireless router (like I do) Microsoft makes a wireless port for the xbox. Seems to work great. I dont hear anyone complain about it.

Only real complaint about the actual MS wireless adapter is it's quite expensive. It's well-integrated with the Xbox, but just rather expensive compared to the competition.

I figured out the router problem. I didn't configure the MAC addy on the Xbox and I didn't get the computer to recognizer the router, but after several phone calls and the like I figured it out.

On the subject of "glitching" on Halo:


My friends and I don't see anything wrong with grabbing a flag through a wall or stuff like that, but we do have a problem with "dummy glitching" where your character appears to be outside of a vehicle, but it's actually invisible in the vehicle. We've had this done to us several times and there really isn't any defense. We think the "glitches" that don't have any way to defend against are cheating.

Only glitch I really care about is the one where a player gets his subscription cancelled due to using profanity online, and then he signs back up with the same IP. They should ban IP's for that crap. It seems to be the 12 year olds that are the ones with the foulest mouths, and the poorest losers.

i had some 18yo drop the N bomb like it was in style talking about "haha you fiing N$$$$$$ you all suck.. etc blah blah blah" so in the post game forum i had a little "talk" with him and he was like "i live in socal so there's no way you'd come to fight me" so i gave him my address and asked if he wanted me to drive to orange county or would he like to come see me..... he signed off 2 minutes later ;)
