Help with stripping paint

Hey all,

I was planning to get some side skirts painted, but i first have to remove the old paint and clear coat (bought the skirts used). Does anyone know the "correct" process in doing so? Should i go with sand paper? And what grit do i start with and end up with? OR should i use "chemicals"?

Anyones help would be appreciated, thanks in advance...

1. Use a DA sander w/ 400 grit (or do this by hand)
2. Primer and let dry
3. Sand again with 600 grit
4. Bring it somewhere to get colormatched by a professional :) with a flex add.

There is really no need to "strip" the existing paint.
