I'm a newbie welder, but if you wanted to spend some time on it and tinker for awhile, I could help you out. If you want someone that you can just place the order with and it'll come out perfectly the first time...........I don't have the ability...........yet.

WEll you have seen my car. Do you got an idea of what i am talkin about? I was thinkin if I can cut out the slides that are there now, and pull the slides out of a new jetta maybe we can retro fit them. Ideas?

If you can get the new sliders, that should be easy. The only tricky part will be making sure they're in the right spot. I'm sure with a little searching I can find a 'how to' article somewhere.

Basically, you're talking about removing the old sliders and welding in some new ones, right? That's easy...even I can do that. :p

I'm a little busy with the GTI right now, so it may be a couple of weeks before I have time.

What do you think would be easier? Copying these sliders or pulling some out of a Jetta?

I'd need to see some pix to figure out if I wanna mess with doing any copying.

for me? building a new set would be easier. Depends on what you want tho becauase A2 and up eats ssit really high in A1 cars, unless your 5'2". it just depends on what you want to do with the seats.

Well considering that the seats are sitting on top of the existing slides I cant imagine the seats sitting any higher. I am sure placement can be worked once I have the slide racks. Right?
