iirc, i read somewhere that they threw out the idea due to mechanical and structural conflicts or something. don't quote me on that though.

so is this engine the same V10 as can be found in the new rs6's? or will this just be a naturally aspirated motor?

525hp sounds like it's N/A since the RS6 has about 580hp

Imagine it it was the V10 TFSI... chipped... 700hp... mmmmmmm

ahh true. my normal range of hp convo goes from 150 to 250. when i talk about anything above 300 i start getting lost haha..

whatev. something that badass doesn't need turbos.

V12 TDI is out because the motor is too large for the engine bay

Audi's motors are SO detuned and under rated, its not even funny...........
take the RS4 that is NA and puts out "420HP", thats a healthy 100HP per liter............
The plain old S6 with is 5.2L NA V10, can only muster up a measly 435HP, 15 more then the RS4, but another EIGHTY (80) ftlbs torque, bitch please!

Thank god, the R8 needed more power then the RS4. 535hp sounds much better. Screw the Lambo conflict.

Well you know how an A4 was originally a 4 banger, but you could get a 6er. An A6 you got the 6, but could get an 8. And the A8, but you can get a W12 or V10 also.

Something like that I guess. Plus when people say R10, I think LeMans TDI.

the twin turbo V10 is amazing, acceleration in the RS6 is so effortless, i can't imagine what it will be like in a car that's around 1000lbs lighter. The current R8 sometimes feels like its lacking a little coming off of slow corners, but with the torque in the V10 it will have power all over. It's going to be crazy.
