i've been to gamestop, eb, target, walmart, compusa, fry's, and bestbuy and nada. anyone have ideas where i can go. i kinda don't want to go online, but i will soon if i can't find these cables. ima check work and a friend might be able to hook me up with some but not sure.
thanks,

seems odd that none of these places would have gamecube component cables, have you tried calling around to different gamestops or ebs?

i know gamestop in cerritos has a universal component and s-video cable that works on all systems.
it has splits at each end to adapt to your specific system. i forgot the brand. i think madcatz, nyko, or something like that.

this is from Nintendo's online store:
The Component Video Cable is currently on back order. We expect to begin shipping again in early March 2005.
i read somewhere that only 1% of the consumers out there that have gamecubes bought component cables or something like that. i will look into this

btw...
Resident Evil 4 for the GC...freakin amazing! fast paced. they move like zombies but they're not. can't wait for these cables!!! gonna play zelda soon with these cables!!! in progressive scan too!!! im about 8 hours in and im still on the first disc...yeah its 2 discs long!!! capcom nailed it with this one...
oh...i know RE4 doesn't support progressive scan... i've seen the difference between component vs a/v cables with games that do not support progressive scan. its night and day. the colors are more vibrant and the picture is sharper. but when you switch to 480p or even 720p gah!!! yes my tv supports these resolutions
thanks again for the help

I thought RE4 runs in 480p. All the reviews says its progressive scan, but it only supports 4:3 mode and doesn't support 16:9 sets. It looks all streched on 16:9 TVs.
BTW, i've had the component cables since the first day the Gamecube came out. I got them from the nintendo site since they are the only ones that carried them. Its a must buy for HDTV owners as it makes all GC games that support progressive scan look 100x better. Metroid, FZero, Mario, they look soooo much better. As for Zelda, it looks only slightly better since its cel shaded.

the box says nothing about progressive. only 1 player and 9 blocks to save a game.
