I am actually planning on going to the big SCE GTG this weekend and I will have my Vag-Com (for MkV's) and VCD_Pro (For MkIV's) and will be programming cars at the GTG.
I am asking $10 for MkV's and $20 for MkIV's.
The MkIV is more expensive because there was more work involved to get it to work right and I had to borrow a computer from Ronald (AdidaRATM) in order to get this working.
There are a few MkIV's on this forum that I have already successfully programmed the windows for (Including Ronald, Vince, and Jusstin).
So if anyone wants this done, Just hit me up. I will probably be working on someone's car or hanging with Xtina and Ronald. I can almost guarantee I will have my camo boonie cap on.

On a MKIV, why cant this be done via Vag-com???

Something about the Hex-Decimal coding of the CCM. It has to be done through a serial cable and through a DOS operating system.
Unfortunately noone has been successful getting it to work on an authentic Ross-Tech cable.

Ok.... I have a serial connection on my laptop and a generic Vag com cable... I might try this myself to see if I can do it.... And pray I dont mess something up! :)

There are a couple very informative threads where you can find all the information you need such as what program to use, what controllers to access, how to modify those controllers, etc. and all that fun stuff.
Or you can let me worry about that. =^)
Even at this price it is still 1/3 the price the KVW1000 is from ECStuning.

I have an '03 GTI and he did my windows. It love it!
Especially b/c its so hott lately, as I walk to my car I can already have the windows rolled down by time i get to my car to vent out the hott ass air. And when Im in a hurry, you can lock your car and close the windows/sunroof as youre walkin away. Its been really convenient for me.

For the MkIV its worth it.
Its not that its hard but its not something that everyone with a vag-com can do. There is a risk of jacking up the controller that you don't really have using a vag-com on something like an Audi or a MkV.

Depends on the job.
If the job were to be Jessica Alba's thong, I am positive Scott would do that for free and it would be fun.

Scott, With all due respect, Is it messed up for ECS to charge $60 for the KVW1000? Sure they put in the research time and development to make this product, But it only works on one car.
I put out my money and time in order to help Vw people such as myself.
The other alternative is to go to your dealership (with labor rates in excess of $100 per hour) and ask them if they are willing (and able) to do it.
I think $10 for MkV's and $20 for MkIV's is very reasonable given the alternatives.

the one in san diego right? and anything else you can program? any other cool stuff?
fixmy59bug
08-08-2008, 01:06 AM
For MkIV's it is all small stuff. Disabling the seatbelt chime is the biggest one. I can also change the selective unlocking (one button press unlocks all doors instead of just the drivers door) and enable auto-unlocking (doors unlock upon removing key from ignition). Unfortunately there is not much that can be changed via Vag-Com on MkIV's.
Neccros
08-08-2008, 01:12 AM
how do you do the seatbelt chime??? drives me nuts! I already did the selective unlock via Vag-com but must of missed where the chime is.... and also enabling the auto unlock via removing the key....
fixmy59bug
08-08-2008, 10:59 AM
For the seatbelt chime you have to go into channel 17 - Instruments, click on coding, and click in the top box. If the coding assist pops up, Follow it. I believe you subtract 2 from the first group. (If it is 07, make it 05).
For the Auto Unlock, you have to go into channel 46 - Central Convenience and click on adaptation. Scroll through the channels and you will find auto lock (locks the doors at 10kph) then next will be auto unlock. Change the value from 0 (off) to 1 (on) and click save.
If you scroll through the other channels, you will also find Unlock - Horn Sounds (the horn beeps twice when unlocking the car), Lock - Horn Sounds, Unlock - Turn Signals Flash, and Lock - Turn Signals Flash.
