Jeff Moss is crazy!
At the AWJunkies dyno day last month there were a few S4s there tuned by Jeff Moss...
I think 3 of them put over 400hp at the wheels, and over 500 ft/lbs of tq.... absolutely nuts. Guess you gotta have something to put that heavy ass car into the 11s. Absolutely nuts though.

haha .. i heard some of them subbie guys were pretty impressed by those S4's
i heard that most of the subbies were having issues with tuning .. pinging and stuff

Yeah pretty much anybody running a Cobb Tuning off-the-shelf Engine Mgmt. was detonating and down on power. Cobb advertized 280 at the crank with the Stg 2 but they only ended up putting ~214 at the wheels. Pretty bad when a WRX with an axel back exh, up pipe, downpipe and no engine mgmt put down 210. Other than that the WRXs put down what was expected with the most powerful being JohnW's 300awhp wagon.
Everyone was in awe of the 535awhp R32 Skyline GT-R that turned the rollers that day.

sad thing was all of those guys were running race gas. my buddy with the same turbo setup as that wagon put down 280 whp on pump gas, 17 psi. EJ20 can make impressive numbers when tuned properly.

Not everybody was running race gas. And JohnWs wagon wasn't ... it was running a toluene mix. There are other factors that can explain dyno numbers as well. The Dynojet that everyone was tested on runs conservatively compared to others. running less corrections than most use... for instance a stock wrx usually turns the rollers at only 175 there at Harman motive. And also yes the EJ20 can make impressive numbers when tuned properly... but there'sa difference btwn tuned properly and tuned aggressively. The guys with aggressive tuning were pinging away ... John could tune it more aggressively but why? It's a daily driver and occasional track car. My old WRX had a VERY aggressive setup on the stock turbo. Worked amazingly in the winter but when the summer came around it was time to stap the MBC on and turn down the boost 2-3psi.
