She is an relative unknown. I think this is the worse thing he could do, not because shes a woman, but because she isn't a political powerhouse like Huckabee or Tim Pawlenty. Well, we can see how this plays out. The race just got way more interesting.

hmmm she looks good on paper:

"She was dubbed "Sarah Barracuda" by opponents when she was mayor of the town of Wasilla, Alaska, resurrecting a nickname she earned as a state champion high school basketball player, according to the Almanac of American Politics.

She was elected mayor of Wasilla at 32, defeating a three-term incumbent. Wasilla had a population of 5,469 in 2000, according to the city's Web site.

She is married to Todd Palin, an oil production operator on Alaska's North Slope. They have five children, including a son who enlisted in the Army last year.

Little known outside Alaska, Sarah Palin is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and takes part in two of the state's popular pastimes -- fishing and hunting, according to her biography on the governor's Web site.

Palin has focused on energy and natural resources policy during her short stint in office, and she is known for her support of drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, a position opposed by McCain but supported by many grass-roots Republicans"

funny how these are turning out...

a black man running for president...
a woman runnin for president (but got denied)
now another woman running for VP...

i suck with politics still.. but i want barrack to win just cuz it would break the cycle of all white presidents.. but knowing how things are the white guy will probably win to keep the cycle..yea i know a dumb analogy but im just voicing my opinion

Geraldine Ferraro was tapped for the VP in 1984 -- but you weren't around for that Ted...

It's all hogwash! Either we finally get a black president or we get a woman VP, but since she is a Republican she's technically a man. lol

Either way, this is all planned out.

McCain: Hey Palin, what say you talk to your state legislative and ask if we can drill just a lil bit, k sweetie? Now be a good lil VP and do as I ask.

Hey not all GOP members are evil, I am everybodys worst enemy, registered Republican but a huge moderate and will cross the party lines if the issue is important to me, I would register as an independant but I grew up in a conservative household and old habits are hard to break.

Using Republican logic I should be fluent in Spanish just from my proximity to Mexico.

Someone needs to get this chick a map. Anchorage to Moscow is not much closer than D.C. to Moscow.

Question: Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?
Sarah Palin: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

This pisses me off on a number a levels. The most obnoxiously offensive being that a Vice Presidential Candidate for the United States of America has no fucking clue what she's talking about.

For starters, the Pledge of Allegiance was not written by the Founding Fathers. Rather, it was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy.

Furthermore, the completely asinine and what would be extremely offensive to the Founding Fathers was the addition of the words Under God in 1954.

What I find even sadder is that a majority of "Patriotic" Americans probably think the same thing Sarah Palin does. These are also the same nimrods that believe our money has always said In God We Trust.
