Call: And got a great price on tires
Visit: Guy on phone does not exist and gave me the wrong quote.
Returned to get warranty road hazard fixed and they said I used up 3/32nds of the tread. I drove 400 miles. Told him that and put in 1/32nd used. I got home and the new tires are the same tread depth as the older ones. Returned only to be told to come talk to the manager (Scott) the next day. I return to him being a complete A-Hole to me and saying my lowered car was off camber. "Nope, wrong, the car is perfectly aligned." I had the wheels in my car and he scraped my entire roof with the tire, "Thanks, that was nice" and I get a stink eye and a refund of the tread use.
So I call Hankook and ask the rep. about the tread depth and I guess lots of people call in about PepGirls adding a 32nd of an inch to the manufacturers rated depth. The rated depth is 11/32nds and Pepboys says they are 12/32nds. The rep says that Pepboys is not an authorized dealer, they said they were.
So the other day I am replacing my turbo and was waiting for the box to come in the mail so i decided to fix the rubbing of the inside of the rear right tire. Pepgirls gave me a 245/40/18 tire instead of the 235/40/18 tire that is on the rest of them. I go back and they had a reciept for the tire disposal fee but they then waived it.
As a non-authorized dealer PepGirls throws there own road hazard warranty with is twenty odd dollars. Hankook provides a 2 year road hazard warranty with their tires.
