50 worst films of the decade

ok who wrote this list i was agreeing with most of the list until i saw DROP DEAD FRED that movie is soo funny. :mad:

Movies on that list that I actually liked (with reasons provided):

The Hudsucker Proxy - quite a few people misunderstand the point of this movie, and actually point out the brilliant aspects as the flaws.

Joe Versus the Volcano - this probably has a lot in common with Hudsucker, in that it has, in what may be a contradictory statement, a blatant subtlety that many miss. Not as good as Hudsucker, but quite enjoyable.

Face/Off - taken as a Hong Kong action movie, only with white people, it actually is pretty good. No, really, go watch an HK action flick, maybe one by John Woo, even, and consider the ridiculous plots and bad acting in them while at the same time praising them as the greatest gun ballets ever made (Hard Boiled rocks, but seriously, can you honestly say the plot and the acting is actually good?).

Don Juan de Marco - I admit, this is a rather bad movie... but I like Jeremy Leven, and I enjoy his forays into cinema. He is understandably a better novelist, and in point of fact, Satan: His Psychotherapy and Cure by the Unfortunate Dr. Kassler, J.S.P.S. (Just Some Poor Schmuck) (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/059514506X/qid=1091054553/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/104-4076510-3046364?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) is one of my favorite books. I stole a copy from the UCLA library and declared it lost as it was out of print at the time. Apparently, had I waited ten years, I'd be able to buy a new edition from Amazon. Que sera sera.

Freejack - dude, this is a classic B-movie! Anthony Hopkins trying to put his brain in the body of racer jock Emilio Estevez... and Mick Jagger as the enforcer. Popcorn!

What Dreams May Come - The movie itself was fairly bad, but the visual effects were amazing. For that alone, I don't think it should be on the list.

Hudson Hawk - Enjoy it for what it is, B-movie cheese with A-list actors. heh.

My Blue Heaven - "Arugla. It's a vegetable" Maybe you had to grow up in NY to get this one.

12. Billy madison: extremely funny movie
20. PCU : another funny ass movie
24. The Adventures of Ford Fairlane: classic andrew dice clay and a funny ass movie
27. Mobsters: it was a good movie (it's no goodfellas but it was good)
29. Faceoff: great movie
39. Encino man: funny, but not the best paulyshore movie (boidome is alot funnier)
45. Lethal weapon 3: all of the Lethal weapons were good movies.
50. Night at the Roxbury: it's an aquired taste, i thought it was funny.

Robinhood Men in Tights: funny ass movie (i cannot find this one on DVD)
