What is the difference between blow off valve and Diverter valve in a VW sense, and how does a diverter vavle work. I am completly clueless as to how it works but im considering a GTI. I would like to know more of what im looking in to.

A BOV releases built up pressure from the turbo. If you are using a stock turbo or K04 turbo then your turbo needs that released pressure to stay spooled. A DV recycles that spent pressure back into the turbo in an atepmt to keep the turbo spooled. VW 1.8T engines kinda rely on that DV. IF you use a BOV instead of a DV on a stock engine you tend to run into problems with the engine. ie Poor drivability and such.
Hope that helps ya
