That's cool it shows what radio station you are on too.

Yep ... and if you notice, when in service test mode it shows signal strength in dB instead of just the bar graph the radio itself shows.

Nice, I like that the temp gauge is in C.

Cost was about $650 ... got it from a guy on the Vortex who has been absolutely awesome to deal with. He originally got it from Germany, but there's a long story behind the whole ordeal that I won't really get into. But I'll just say I've been waiting for about 3 months to get this thing here and working. It's quite satisfying that it all works, and works as advertised.

This is just another part of a big interior mod fest I'm going through. Thankfully, I'm almost finished. Just one big thing left to put in and a couple smaller items and I'll call it done.

That's my feeling as well ... and the screen in the middle is an added bonus ;)

The center info display is very similiar to the SID console in the SAAB 9-3 and 9-5's. The only thing that is doesnt show is radio stations but it shows CD tracks, Temps, MPG, Miles remaining on tank, and a trip computer.

I have to agree that is the one thing that is missing in my SAAB is the ability to actually make the gauges look good! The stock gauges are ok but they don't have that punch that the Vdub and Audi gauges have!!

You could probably do the rice mod and get some indiglo gauges ... :ha:

If it were only that easy for us SAABers! I have looked for white gauge faces, indiglow and the various types ascociated with the rice culture and no luck.

The SAAB as not made it to the mainstream in tuning yet and probably will not for a while now unless the new 9-2x SAABaru gets us on the map of tuners!!

Yeah it's a shame GM had to sell SAAB out to make them more "mainstream" ... Personally, I've always loved SAABs simply because they were different.

If no one else will do it I am on a mission to show the world that SAAB's are a great car and worth the effort!!!

Are displays like that an option over in Europe? Was it plug 'n play?

Yes, and mostly yes.

There was some programming needed, and some minor wiring to be run since I didn't have some features stock. But it was nothing major.

Did the pre-2004 jettas have more of a purple guage than the newer mk4's?

I don't think so ... not that I noticed at least. Probably just the lighting in the pics.
