Hello I am new to this site and had a few questions.

I am in the market for a new (pre-owned) ride, I have been looking at Audi Avant Wagons, both the 2.8 and the 1.8T. Does anyone have any information, personal experience with, or buying tips for these cars? Which is the prefered model....given I would like to do a bit of after-market tuning to increase performance. Any major flaws or pitfalls with these vehicles?

How does the Audi compare with the VW Passat 4-motion series wagon?

Any other suggestions on where to find these cars at a reasonable price?

Thanks for any info - sykoslug

Welcome to SoCalEuro !

Id choose the 1.8t with what you just asked. It has more potential for tunability at a good value. The 2.8 would require a supercharger before it could produce a lot of power.

The 1.8t is an overall great motor with lots of aftermarket parts for.

The Avant uses quattro compared to the 4motion which is a haldex system, both are great systems, but the quattro seems more geared towards street performance than the haldex.

I personally would choose the Audi Avant over the passat 4 motion, but if you wanted 2WD, then id get the Passat

I would personally choose the SAAB 9-5 Aero with the Traction Control Systems. It is a 230HP Turbo charged 4 Cyl. that has all the refinements of the modern Euro car! I am just a little biased towards SAAB's!
