Due to work issues this year my tax return is not that large, so I figured I could use it to buy a compressor and finally get some air tools.

I have basically all craftsman stuff so far and in that vein:

I plan on using the compressor for basic tools and as quick as possible getting one of these:

So will the above compressor meet my needs and are tools it comes with worth a damn?

sand blasters use ALOT of air and will deplete that tank pretty quickly. Its annoying, but all you do is wait a while for the tank to recharge and blast another area.

if you were going to sandblast for a living, you would just need to get an industrial compressor. For what your doing, that will work fine.

What are you blasting?

Its best not to ask.

Edit:

And I agree with Shawn on all points about that compressor.

lol, I have two cars that will need to be blasted, a bug and my pontiac.

Luckily the bug is almost stripped to the body and pan. I just have a few panels left to remove. I would almost rather get it done, but the price of the blaster seems to be way less than what the going shop rates are.

I guess I could make some side money, blasting small pieces body panels and pieces for people also.

The pontiac would be outside only, just getting the paint off and primered.

Just get some earplugs with that compressor. They're loud. Like wake the dead up loud..

There are chemical strippers that work very fast as well. For the projects your doing, might be a better solution.
