If I had the space and money I would pick it up and try the experiment I alwyas wanted to do! Swap a SAAB motor into a Volvo and mate it to the Volvo rear wheel drive system! Then I would have a great hybrid vehicle!

If for experimenting, find one with one less digit in the price tag. Then try and do all the mods for less than that!

FWIW, since I've bought wheels, springs, and sway bars already, that means I have about $120 left to stick a supercharger under the hood of my '90 740 wagon.

I was thinking the same thing. Something more along the lines of a $600 242 Volvo is what I had in mind. Much like this one.
