i took them out of my Jetta along with my 2 15" JL's in a heavy coffin box. It was like driving a whole new lifted vehicle. The back seats weigh a TON!!! ;)

In my (mk3) golf I have the bottom seat cushions removed, so I can have a flatter load floor ... anyone have any clue how to actually remove the backrest portion of the seats (i.e. what tool/s are needed?)
The back part definately is much heavier, taking them out would probably lighten my car up noticably.
Then again, my cargo room is maxxed out now anyway, and if I want to run stock class in AutoX, I'll have to add the seats back in again.
