Well I have had the GIAC chip for over a year now and have yet to have a problem. It isn't a big difference in power but it does pull a little harder and has a better throttle response. NOt a bad bang for your buck.

I've had a autotech q-chip for over 2 years and no problems. Worth the money

I will indulge you and say that if you knew anything about your car at all you would know that a 12 valve VR6 was the only VR6 configuration available for the year/model of car you have. 24 valve VR6 engines were not available until 02 or 03. So ends this class Mr "VR6 Expert"

So what was the effect the chip had ? Could you notice the difference? Unfortunately mine is a solder in no do it yourself job here.

imho the best things about chipping a VR6 is the increased rev limit and erased top speed limiter.

it removed my speedo limiter so it doesnt stop at 135mph, better throttle response, red line is now 7200 instead of 5500 or 6000, and smoother acceleration, ahh thats pretty much it. oh it says about 7-12hp but thats debateable.
