New M3's???

Iwa driving behind an M3 the other night awwing and stuff when I noticed the "stock mufflers" The new M3 has the dual exhaust kinda in the middle of the car, as I was looking I noticed that the right side of the dual tipped exhaust had the carbond build up and such while the left side was clean as a whistle??? :(
So do these cars have a dummy exhaust?. Lately Ive been looking at all the Bmers exhaust now, Even a new 3 series with the single dual tip, Left tip was dirty and the right looked clean.....Whats going on here guys?.... :D :D

its functional, but the inlet is on one side ... could be more air flows out one side then the other

but you'd probably have to look at the internals of it

my i add, those mufflers are huge !!
