New Saab 9-3 Estates Sets Sights On A4 ----Pics

Based on the Vauxhall Vectra platform, the SportWagon will hit UK showrooms in September. Buyers will have a choice of six petrol engines and two diesels. Power outputs will range from 120bhp in the entry-level 1.9-litre TiD Linear oil-burner to 250bhp in the all-new turbocharged 2.8 V6 Aero range-topper. The latter will be added to the line-up for the 9-3 saloon and convertible models from September, too.

Pretty sweet looking wagon, but I would have to do something with those rear lights. Possibly smoked would look right. Either way...:hitit:

Yea, the Clear lights gotta go. Gives at sort of APC look to it.

The rear hatch and taillights and D pillar area seem kind of Saturn'ish

The L series Saturn and the SAAB 9-3 and 9-5 share alot of platform items so it may have gotten a L300 Wagon rear end. They are also going to bring back the hatchack 9-3 as well!! Woo Hoo which is why I never bought a 2003 or newer 9-3.

I think it looks better in the last pic, of the blue. I'd probably prefer a more traditional look, but they could be worse I suppose (i.e. mk5 lights).
They just remind me a bit too much of the RX330.

Otherwise its a hot car :tup: But I wonder how 'Saab' it is rather than GM?

I just noticed the turbo'd 2.8 V6. Sounds like fun.

Thats what I was thinking as well. A true SAAB has got to be a hatch back for me!! Except for the 9-5's......stilll love the 9-5

No links yet but if you check out the GM Forums you can find a little inof on it here and there. It is slated for release for the 2007 production year from what I hear.
