Still buying stuff for my motor build, I decided to see what she would look like by temporarily slapping her together. I'm glad I did cause I'm plenty motivated now :D

Heres what I'm dropping in for better breathing while I wait for G60 internals..

11.0:1 turbo motor..

Seriously? You are going to have to do some seriouse tuneing my friend. :hitit:

What are you going to use for fuel btw? Looks great, I like the polished intake. What's your power goal?

The kit was made for using the stock CIS *Calloway knockoff* If I come across any problems then I will go with some Megasqurt action.
The intake was a gift from Monster8V, he cut out some of the aluminum between the runners and started the polishing. I just put a buffing pad on a high speed drill and finished her off.

As far as power goals, anything over what she has now will make me happy, I'm actually happy with how peppy she is stock, especially now after adding a new clutch kit and lightened flywheel.I have most of the suspension done, all poly, Koni adjustables w/coilover sleeves and H&R 600lbs front and 500 rears, front sway, upper strut bar, lower 4 pt, rear triangulated strut bar, new ball joints, hubs, bearings. I still need to press in the poly on my A arms and I need a rear sway bar if anyone has :D

11.0:1 turbo motor. I love it.

Putting in G6o rods and pistons will bring me back to stock compression and will be right at home with boost.

Has the head been decked at all? Or is all the compression coming from the pistons?

Has the head been decked at all? Or is all the compression coming from the pistons? My calipers battery is dead so i havent checked it for height yet, but I'm sure its coming from pistons and the rod length

[noob]I've meant to ask, what exactly does a BOV do?

There's a stockish 1.8T Jetta here, and there was an A4 1.8T owned by a SoCalEuro kid (who totalled it and now drives a V8 Domestic truck ) who'd accelerate all over campus, showing off their BOV and annoying people.

Even though they have real turbos, they're stock and did it just for attention .. I hate to throw out that 4-letter word however without knowing more about it.

A blowoff is used to eliminate compressor surge when changing gears. Excessive back pressure is created when the throttle is closed during gear changes or deceleration, causing turbo cavitation. This is detrimental to the life of your turbocharger, however fitting a BOV will substantially improve this problem. By installing a BOV you will significantly reduce turbo spool up time. You will notice a substantial improvement in response from your turbo between gearshifts. Boost will come on earlier giving an increase in torque at lower RPM.

You could of just said "It vents boost pressure when it isn't needed".

You almost confused me with your in depth answer.

looks good man, what kind of head/block are you using. i want to do the same with my 8v. i want to go n/a first and later go turbo.

Thanks bro, ;) 1.8 block and head. The block has 16V pistons installed but I am changing them out for G60 pistons/rods. Anyone know where I can get a G60 block intact?
