its a cool little gizmo. My friend on the track team has one and he really likes it. i dont have one, i want one cuz thats how i have my music play on the comp. i just click play and i have it on random so it plays a grip of diff songs. if i had the money i would definitely get one. They are really cool. If you have the money go for it. If you have that money and are still wondering what to do, just give it to me and i will spend it for you.

i think creative labs has some better ones for cheaper, i seriously hate i pods.. creative labs has better products with more storage and much cheaper.. ipods are the fu%$#@ starbucks of mp3 players  just a status symbol

I was thinking of getting one but the fact that you have no display and it is totally random I think would wear on me. Plus for around a 100 more you can get the regular 20 gig IPod. It isn't as light or small but the navigation is awesome and works better in the car too.

How are they just a status symbol? They were the FIRST to offer a compact MP3 player with a huge storage capacity. I have an iPod and I swear by it. It's by far the best gizmo I have ever bought. I use it every single day. It's hooked up to my car stereo as well as the iTunes I use at home....

Not to knock the iPod interface, which is reportedly very good but the PJB-100 had a 6gb capacity, a full 2 years before the iPod debuted with a 5gb capacity.
It wasn't much bigger than the iPod either.

damn, got into a stupid geek fight ;) this is awesome

but honestly, the reason why i was interested in the shuffle is for its simplicity and size/weight ... plus i like using itunes

i think most of the people i know that have an ipod bought it cause "it's an ipod" why pay that much for something when there are other products out there with better features and cheaper? i had my girl's mp3 player today at work and someone walks up and says "oh cool who's ipod?" keep in mind it looks nothing like the ipods!! i'm not saying they're crappy players or anything but there's a lot more out there for a lot less

they come with a very simple program that you just drag your songs into the list.. if you want to take them off you just drag or delete them... pretty easy to use

Just to let you guys know tomr [wed], Apple should be announcing the release of an updated ipod mini. Theyre upping the storage to 6gb, new color choices, and will feature a color LCD display. The msrp will be the same $249, but the 4gb minis will be $199.

Good to know. I will look out for that.

I've got a 1gb iPod shuffle... its pretty cool. Its hard to knock a player that is about the size of a usb jump drive and costs only marginally more. It does everything I need it too and it disappears when I'm done with it.

You can now get the Ipod Mini 4gb with 18hrs of battery life for $179 under education discount or the ipod mini 6gb for $229 or the regular ipod 20g for $269. I might have to pick up a mini for those prices.

wow, that 4gb mini sounds like a good deal... with all the stuff made to integrate ipods into factory stereos, it's an easy decision over other brands.

I bought one for my lady and I end up having it more than she does. Its small compact and you can put abt 120 songs on the 512mb model. Great battery life too, up to 12 hours.

I really wish they created a fm transmitter for it so you could play songs through your radio in the car though like some companies have created for the ipod and ipod mini.
