I'm ordering some Magnecor's for my 2000 jetta 2.0 8v. There are wires for cars with distributors, and without. I didn't know that some came distributorless? How do you know other than checking under the hood?

Many cars have had distributorless ignition for some time. I would guess that your car does not have a distributor.
Wouldn't be able to tell by just listening to the car.
You have to check the engine.
Do you know what you're looking for?

I know you couldn't tell by listening. I checked it out, and all the plugs plug into the same place. I'm assuming that's the coil pack. It looks the same as a distributor to me, but I haven't had a different car to compare it to in five years. Everyone I have talked has told me that I don't have a distributor. Guess I'll have to send these plugs back and get the other ones.

plug wires should still work you may have an issue with length though (coil assembly to spark plug)

Can some one post a picture of what the distributor and rotor is supposed to look like? Because I sure don't know what a coil pack looks like.
