It all started back on Thanksgiving day. My entire family came over to spend the

holidays with us. My cousins havent seen my car and when they finally got a look

at it they gave my the thumbs up . Anyways i had only had my 337 for

about a year and didnt do really much with it since it I had bought it with springs,

sway bars, turbo back exhuast, boost gauge. My car was quick enough for me at

the time since i wasn' really into drag racing anyways. So here we go, i decided to

take my cousin for a ride in my car since he had never riden in a GTI before, i

decided to take him to my local cayons where me and my buddies go all the time.

I was the more experienced one out of all of them and was good enough to

outrun sum canyon riders out there, as were heading up sand canyon, i decide to

pucnh it and give it all i got. My tires were crappy at the time but i thought i could

manage for the time being. Turn after turn my tires were squelinging like crazy

but i wasnt gonna give up because i was just about done with my run. Next thing

i know i come round this corner, understeer like a mother and slide and slide

and.......slide into a big pile of dirt/rocks. Dazed and confused i got the car to look

at the damage, lucky me there was no body damage other than the lip being

broken and some scrathes here and there. I look inside the car and the

passanger side curtian deployed as well as the driver seat air bag deployed as

well. I turn on my car but notice that i cant turn my wheels, thats when i knew

that i jacked something up. My INS. took my car to People Choice Collision and

estimated the damage was over 12,000. I couldnt beleive it.

 2 broken axles, messed up rims, deployed airbags, a hole through my

intercooler, tweaked suspension. (but no body damage) cost 12 G's. Whats

even worse is that the only reason i decided to take my car that shop was

because the guy, Al Dominguez. Promised that my car be out in 3 weeks max.

:liar: , 3 bitchin months later i get my car back and still my car isnt perfect, i

keep hearing noises like if my right rear strut is loose as hell and some details like

crappy paint work made me get angry even more . I had to take my car to

another shop just last week to get it inspected again to see how much money is

gonna get jacked from that other dumbass who couldnt fix my car right. Sorry

bout the long story guys but is it even worth modding my car anymore? please

any comments help.

Your car is never going to be perfect. Just be lucky no one was injured.

If your insurance guarantees the work from the body shop you took it to, bring it back. If not, the insurance is supposed to put the car back to its condition pre-crash so call them and let them know you're not completely satisfied and ask them how to proceed.

Sorry to hear about the accident. It took over a year for me to get my car back to running like it was before.

Seems to have a broken shift key though, it only activates on every other "i".
=)

Seriously though, with that much damage, the car is always going to seem..off.
Even if it is fine mechanically, it won't feel right psychologically, if you get my drift.

Sorry to hear about your struggles with getting your car fixed. Once a car gets severly damaged, it's very difficult to get it back to it's pre-accident condition. If you're happy with the car once the repairs are done, then keep modding. That being said, you shouldn't let your car leave the shop until the repairs are completed to your satisfaction. Get your insurance company involved if necessary.

Hopefully, you've learned some good lessons from this episode about car control and hazardous driving on public roads. Be glad that it was just a pile of rocks and not a 900 foot ravine.
