Hey guys. I need to take off the VW on the back of my MKIV jetta. any help or suggestions would be nice.

heat gun or blow dryer + dental floss. if you use a heat gun though don't let it point at one area for too long because it will mess up your paint

Sorry, but you are wrong there. It is not a GTI. You will need to remove the lining from the the trunk lid. It is a bunch of flecked phillips screws. Once the lining is removed, there are three 20 torx screws that hold it into the trunk lid. Remove these, the plug with wires, and the cable connected to it, and the logo along with the whole trunk lock assembly will now come out. Unfortunately if you wanted to debadge it, you will now have a big hole there where it used to be. Although it is sold as one complete unit, it can be taken apart. There are three more screws and some plastic rivets that hold the actual logo onto the trunk lock. Remove those and then gently pry it off since it also has some double sided tape. I took mine apart to paint, but if you just don't want it there, it will take bodywork and paint on your trunk lid. Here is mine after painting:
