Question: How does this intercooler compare to the others? 20vt, apr, neuspeed, etc. I forget what brand (eurojet I think) but there's seems to be pretty well rcv'd and they're asking 799.00. I ask because ABD had an intake that seemed high priced also, but they had some articles and testing ranking it number one, somewhat justifying the price, in my mind anyway.

Here are the Details found from another site:
This ABD Front Mount Intercooler Kit is a must for all 1.8T vehicles. This kit can be installed in about an hour or two with only minor trimming of the front spoiler and no modifications to any sheet metal or bumper reinforcement. Dyno studies show gains of 9HP with over 30% less intake heat. The kit includes: all hardware, clamps, silicone couplers, ceramic-coated mandrel bent tubing, and aluminum intercooler.

Here's my opinions on the few you listed:
I personally like my ABD intercooler. It was easy to install. I didnt have to cut much and it took like 45 minutes. Pretty simple to me. It is also the only intercooler that I have seen dyno results on. One of the european car mags did an article on its intstallation too. I can post that article later when I get home.

APR has a good intercooler, however it seems to be pretty small in mass to me and there is that hassle of returning your bumper core to APR to get your $200.00 back. They (APR) are also well reputable and have a lot of numbers on their website to back their product. I can also get APR products if you are interested in that intercooler.

I have seen a write up on Eurojets intercooler. It appears to be a lot more difficult to install and has some fitment issues. Along with that I have heard that some are not entirely happy with the intercooler installation. Certain hoses not fitting they way they would like to from what I can see. On top of that, I think that the actual radiator portion isnt quite as large as the ABD intercooler.

Neuspeed looks like it is a nice set up. I am not sure why they would paint all their plumbing black. That doesnt seem like it would disapate the heat as nonpainted aluminum plumbing would. Black just seems to absorb heat really well. However I havent seen this kit in person just in pictures.

As far as 20VT. I cant get to their website to see their intercooler. So I cant comment at all on that one. I think I have seen it though but, I am not sure.

It's hard to say which intercooler is actually better without seeing actual recorded results. (Dyno, air temp. or air pressure)

Cool, I was curious at the price point. Once my car is out of the bodyshop the last two things I was planning for the engin was all of the samco hoses (I haven't seen the new kit you mentioned and the front mount (and maybe a c02 kit for it). Until I scrape together like 4k to get the tiptronic worked on by level 10. I'm pretty much tapped out performance wise.

Cool. I attached a pic of the samco hoses. The only one that I can get my hands on at the moment.

What do you mean by a level 10 working on your transmission?

Tiptronics can't take too much power before you ruin it. Level 10 has set up a program where you send them your tiptronic and they can bulletproof it, but it's like 3500 to 4k. Here's the thread from the vortex. Level 10 (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1801576)
