But the German car maker has broken the mould and produced the world's fastest and most expensive set of wheels.

Stranger things have happened.

They've been talking about this car for over 3 years and none have been built.

The McClaren used to be the fastest production car but now the Koenigsegg CCR (http://www.supercars.net/cars/2004@$Koenigsegg@$CCRx.html) is claiming that title.

I guess the Mercedes SLR is getting bumped out of the top 5

The Bugatti Veyron costs £700,000 and has a top speed of 252mph, beating its closest rival, the £630,000 240mph McClaren F1.


looks to me like it is 12mph faster than the McClaren(which is currently the worlds fastest production car)

Looks kind of dull to me. Maybe we'll see it on Pimp My Ride. They can throw some spinners and a nicer looking, 3-tier wing and maybe a chrome-illusion paint job. then I'd consider buying one.

If you put nitrous on that car, I bet you could make it go back in time.
