In a move that's more like Ford than Ferrari the Italian auto maker famous for such unique vehicles like the Testarossa and 550 Maranello has whored out their crowning jewel - the Ferrari Enzo - and made a Masserati from it. The MC12.

The MC12 is Maserrati's new flagship signaling the auto maker's return to motorsport and hopefully to roads across the world.

The "new" car uses the same engine, carbon fiber tub, suspension, etc etc as the Enzo but performances figures have been purpousfully curved back as to not surpass the Top Dog Ferrari. The MC12 tops out at 206 mph where as the Enzo continues on to 218 mph before finding the end of its speedo. The 621hp found under the deck of the MC12 at 7500 RPM is likely the reason for the lower - yet very high - performance numbers as the Enzo belts out 650hp at 7800 RPM.
