Anybody know a good windshield repair shop around 626/909/562/714 area i was on the 60 merging on to the 57S when a damn rock chipped my windshield, and now that chip is about 5 inches long. what to do??:mad:

Nothing to joke about - afterall, it is glass.
There are ways to repair it, but given the cost (which could run as much as a new windshield installed) and the fact that it's not something rare, I'd replace it.
I don't have any shop to recommend, but you may want to call your insurance company and see if they have any recommended places. Heck, your insurance may even have covered the glass with little or no deductible. It doesn't hurt to ask.

thanks.. and you would trust them with your car right?? just making sure they are reputable, i'll give em a call. i was quoted $476 by Brundige Glass in Brea, o ya and that deductable thing... i cover the first $1000:bs: and they cover the rest:mad: suck for me.. tryin to find a cheaper but reputable place to get it fixed:tup: thanks everyone and keep the recommendations comin'

cost me $177.12 total for mine to be replaced...perks of the job i guess
try allstar glass, they have great prices...before my discount it was still cheap (circa $250)

and eonic, to answer your question... yes i would recommend them. i work for an auto collision repair shop in our quality control dept. these are the people we use on a daily basis...
lots of our employees have used both i suggested above. i need to use them too, but im just too damn cheap.. lol i've had a cracked windshield since september of 04.. :(

I know the owner of Inland Auto Glass. It's based in Hemet but mobile. I'd trust them with any of my cars and he has great prices. 951-925-7043 That should be the number.

well lemme know guys. It also would depend on where the place is.
i had a windshield replaced from all star...............i paid around $230 installed and they came to my job and replaced it there..........its not an oem vw glass, mine is made by pilkington---------but it meets the oem standard for glass

Shouldn't be an issue. Pilkington is OEM for other manufacturers, so it's not like they're some cut rate company.

i just called all star and they quoted me 349 total and they said they use ppg and they can come to my work :) i might just set up an appointment with them
