WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT BUY A VOLVO FROM VOLVO ESCONDIDO!
When I bought our '98 GLT Wagon used with 83K, it had just had its 80K service and they told me they had replaced the brakes, battery and done an alignment.
Two weeks ago we were driving to LA and brakes started squeling. I called them to bring the car in that Saturday and they were closed so I brought the car to SD Volvo.
Car needed all new front brakes, rotors and pads. It also needed new oil pan seals ( ticking at idle), and new suspension mounts.
Now the only thing I was really pissed about was the brakes, they told me yes the brakes were done but only the rear pads glazed rotors. The fronts were done to 15%.
I called Volvo Esondido and they told me that they couldn't do anything becuase I didn't bring the car in for service with them. I also called Volvo customer service and they are filing a complaing with the dealership.
Bottomline is Fock that dealer, anyone who wants to get horrible customer service feel free to call them otherwise please bocot. I'm still battling them on the issue, I'll keep you posted.
On the same note Wes Henkle is the Best!

That sucks to hear man.
I have delt with their parts dept, and so far their customer service has been good.
I agree with you on Wes Hinkle, Between myself and my dad we have bought 4 Volvos from them and everytime was a pleasent experience.
I just go to escondido for parts because it is like 2 mins from my house.
I have a great indy mechanic that is right around the corner from Escondildo Volvo, hit me up if you want his info:)

Hey, would you mind if I put your experience down in the Volvospeed Dealership Forums? We're trying to get as many reviews of as many dealerships as possible.

Please feel free to use this on any forum.....I'm now at a point where they're not returning my calls....I guess its just chalk one up for experience.....and now I at least know where the cars at......still a great car so far and totally worth the money.....I still feel like I made out on top with what I paid for her.....I guess you just don't figure this sort of sh*t happens with a Volvo dealer....mabye some shady indy mechanic.....
used car sales managers always do the least to a car that it needs, but 15% of brakes is dangerous, see if SD Volvo still has your old parts to take back to where you bought it, I've worked for dealers for a long time and thats pretty bad, no matter how cheap they were, no matter how much they would lie to you, they would always put brakes on a car for THEIR OWN protection. what would they be saying if the brakes had faded and you ended up plowing into a cross walk or another car? I wouldn't let this go. Post it all over the web boards. It will get back to them.

the worst is that they said the brakes were done, especially the fronts and all they did was the rear pads on Glazed rotors, leaving the fronts at 15%...lame

I actually really like SD Volvo we bought her last Volvo there and would've bought a car through them but she wanted the V70 that body type and color and they didn't have any at the time....only other car that I found under 100K on the mileage was green....either way lesson learned.
I'm still plugging away at Escondido Volvo and yes I did get all the work done at SD Vovlo, new front rotors and pads, suspension mounts, oil pan seals, and I just finished the K&N, IPD motor mount, and replaced some old tail light bulbs...
I feel allot better about where I think the car is at now....really I'm not pissed just feel like they took advantage and I don't want anyone else to have to deal with that......I love the car though and its been fun and easy to work on so far.....
