Try and guess what time of day I took these :D Again, I want to say that this is a lil Casio digi...try not to bust my balls on lighting and stuff that has to do with settings as I'm very limited....as far as subject matter, thats fair game. Enjoy...or not ;)

1. The texture in the pic would be amazing if it were all in focus. It's a bit rotated also.
2. A little P-shop work, adjusting levels to bring out the color and it'll be a very nice photo. Nice angle on the caterpillar and I like that the background is broken up in the top right corner. This pic also follows the "rule of thirds" pretty well, the caterpillar is 1/3 and the background is the 2/3, but your eye is drawn to the bug.
3 & 4. Good coloring and use of depth-of-field, but the subjects are uninteresting. I'm sure somewhere in that tree is a pattern or color that is more eye catching. My eye wanders all over these pics and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at.
Nice work for point and shoot camera. Even though you might have limitations on your camera settings, that just means you have to be more careful of your compostion. If you give a isht. :P

This is exactly what I was looking for! I didn't think we were allowed to retouch with Pshop...but I was mainly looking for comments on my composition! Thats the thing with a point and shoot, there were lots of good shots I could of took in both those tree shots, but my zoom is only 3X's and the rest is digital zoom...which sucks booty. Thanks for the feedback and next topic that Paul puts out, I will be using an OLD ass 35MM to take the picts and will have the picts put on disk to post. Thanks Tom

Photoshop, or any digital darkroom software, should be considered an essential part of taking a picture.
Ansel Adams put it something like this.....
Exposing the film (or sensor :P) is just collecting the ingredients. Developing and printing (or photoshopping) is putting the ingredients together and creating the gourmet meal.
I'm a real amateur when it comes to taking pics, but I'd like to at least offer feedback. I really enjoyed the pictures, they brought a welcome splash of color to the screen, and I think you did a nice job of capturing different shades/forms of light. While some elements of the photos are not as "sharp" or "clear", I didn't mind this at all as I see it as light in yet another form. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

naw...all the light was from inside that tank...I don't think there are any reflections going on...then again I'm on a 6 year old monitor. I usually can see better details on my 19" LCD screen @ work :D
