Done.

Well 95% done, now on to the final motor/suspension/safety tweaking for the track!!

Finished last friday at approx. 12:30am with a few hours to spare before the Coronado Speed Festival. Entered the car show both days. I didnt win my class (European) both days, I was honestly bummed because of the 300+ hours I put into it in the past 3.5 months. After the Sunday announcement of my class, I just walked away from the judge's table. 15min later my friend text's me that he has my trophy. Run back to the judges table and it turns out they all loved my car but because I had it set up for race and I didnt have any interior they couldnt place me. However I scored highest on paint, motor, suspension, exterior, modifications (aluminum window frames, lexan windows, etc.) so they made up a rally class into which I was the only contestant and I got a first place trophy, and they let me do two laps on the track!!

Enjoy.

So awesome, and a trophy well deserved I will say. There are plenty of restored red GTV's with black leather running around. Nice to see a different direction.

Woah flawless paintjob im impressed did everything right. I wish I could go back and turn my 3.0CS into a csl but that would take years.

^^^^^^^^^ you need to pick ONE car. Not M3 this, 3.0 that, Jaguar this.... focus on ONE car. You would probably have ONE nice car instead of three projects buried up to your neck.

Years? No.

Its called selective OCD. Whomever said obsessive compulsive disorder is a disease never obsessed over the right thing.

I work a normal work day M-Th 6-4pm then I went to my buddys shop and worked on my car for 2-3 hours a day.
Fri, Sat, Sun I worked on my car from 8am-9pm.

Did this pretty much everyday for 3 months with NO days off, not even my birthday.
Logged in about 340 hours from mid June to September 24th.

It can be done!! Or I can do it for you....wink!

As much as I love the 3.0cs there are so many cars I want to have and start another project. I'm in college atm, so im hopefully looking forward to my upperclassman years where I can use some of my major to help me build my goal projects. E36 m3 was a project I took on too quickly.

You have a great attention to detail I wish you could help me with future projects or even learn from you would be great. ATM im fascinated with rusty the e28 maybe a 3.0CS version or something similar like a bavaria.

The car currently lives in my buddys shop in Poway. Were now going over the final details; tuning the engine, adding a fireout system, external battery cutoff switches, etc.
Im probably going to bring her to my work this friday at Bobileff so I can snap some pictures with its ferrari and lambo cousins...

Whats cars and coffee? I havent done anything the past 3 months im so out of the loop. I need to make it out to some smaller events before she hits the track.

Can anyone recommend a good clear bra place. The only one I know of is modern image. Wonder what they charge, im kinda tapped out. Italian parts are expensive...

I work in Poway. Any chance be interested in doing a photoshoot, and maybe we can write up an article on SoCalEuro?

I love those cars, I almost bought one when I was 19 or 20. Somehow my parents convinced me a better investment in my future would be purchasing a "NEW" 386 PC. I shoulda bought the ALFA!!!

On another note though, I think I finally convinced my father that I should have the 66 Elan here in SD instead of with him in Mass. So I'm planning to go put it on a transport over the winter!

Chris over at CE Mobile Detail can more then likely do the clear bra, I believe he uses the 3M stuff, which from what I hear is the best stuff on the market.

NICE! Jealous of you guys with the skills to restore cars like that.

Anymore pics of that yellow 365 in the background?

A photo shoot/article can definitely be done. I just redid the alum window frames to fit better, made a new fire cluster and labeled the buttons, and making/installing kick plates and what not.

Can anyone pass me Chris (CE mobile detail) info. The only other place I know of is modern image so I might go there.

And sorry, i dont have any other photos of that Daytona, after about the first year I stopped taking pictures of "those" type of cars. I only take pictures of the super secret 1 off cars that went directly from Enzo ferraris and ferrucio lambos hands into mine. Unfortunately I am not allowed to show those pictures.
