I have a Reflex Silver 2003 Jetta 1.8t. And this car has a few bad spots on it when I got the car. I wanted to ask anyone on this site that would know of a place where I can get the painted without having to break a big ass hole in my pocket. I got an estimate at a local auto paint shop. And they made this excuse about my color being expensive. Is Reflex Silver an expensive color to spray? If thats true then Im shit out of luck. The guy was asking for $700 bucks for the car. And to be honest, I dont even think that shop was all that top notch. So thats why I came to SCE. I wanted your suggestions, prices and locations would help a lot. It would convince my dad to get my car painted. =P Also, If you feel that your a great painter yourself and could show me some of your work, I could talk to my dad about handing over the car to you to paint it. I just gotta get it painted haha. I feel embarrassed driving around with a bumper, left quarter panel, hood, and door all messed up. I wanted a good paint job, doesnt everyone? But someone who would do it at a reasonable price. Im in school full time, so I cant come up with the money that easily. My dad is on the road for half the month trucking, so its hard for him too. Well hopefully someone could help.
Thanks in Advance,

well 700 is dirt cheap for a respray thats probably a scuff and shoot. silver is one of the hardest colors to spray due to tiger striping. i would suggest doing the prep work(take bumpers, rubs, lights, ect off, sand) fix dents then take it to a body shop and have them spray it. im going to be painting my satin gti soon and ill be doing all the prep work then spending 1k for a respray( or buying a gun and paint and trying it myself).

Hey Dennis first i would like to say that its cool that you respect your dads hard work and sacrifice. Maaco is probably your best bet for a cheap paint job my jetta is waiting on paint so i have checked into it. Aside from a little crappy place in Rubidoux that will shoot a car for $199.00 they are the cheapest. I have had quite a few people tell me that Maaco does a damn good job for $400.
