is this supposed to be advertizing?
if so, it's pretty amateur...the rolled up jeans are a real nice touch ...
on the up side, the video of the road twisting is nice as well as the scene in the tunnel....where is that?

Dude.
Never get other peoples opinions that don't matter (like mine).
The only ones that matter are the client and yours. As long as you're both happy then the pproduct is a good one.
The creative process is destroyed by concensus.
Having said all that: I was entertained by the video but the product needed to have a bigger role to be the star. But what the hell do I know.

Yea, the last half of it looks like an add for audi.
NOT advertising....
just something fun I cut together to show them.
It's some mini DV footage and my feet in the garage.
Never said it was a pro spot or actually advertising.
It was just something to show them, to possibly get together to do something for real.
I'm a Camera Operator in the movie and tv industry.
I've done TV shows, 100 million dollar movies and major car spots.
I have access to 35mm film equipement, car mounts, grip packages and lighting set ups.
Crew and camera cars.....
Was just for fun. Don't take everything soooo damn serious.
If it looks like an Audi add, it's just because it's footage of my car racing around that me and my brother did for fun.
and btw, it's spelled 'Heel-Toe', not heal.....

Hm, considering these are shoes geared towards racers i assumed it would be a good idea to include some heal toe shifting.
Ah damn, i did it again... I guess my inferior opinions are not acceptable by someone in the movie industry. Please forgive me, i forgot you are above me in the food chain. :(
give me a break. don't play that 'you're in the movie biz, I'm better than you, food chain' crap.
It's just a job. Do I think I'm any more important than a doctor or teacher or minister ?? NO.
Actually, they have shoes geared towards racers.
They have shoes that are more casual, geared toward driving enthusiasts that look more like normal sneakers, which these are.
They have a few new models on the way out that look like great casual driving shoes/sneakers.
They are also trying to make shoes to push into the skateboarding and surfing market, which I was asked about, since I have connections in the Surf industry.
The piece was like someone story boarding a commercial, I just did it with DV video and editing in Final Cut Pro.
If something was done for a REAL advertisment, it'd be shot on FILM !!!
Don't play the martyr game. It's rather juvenile.

Yeah, the owner of Piloti was at the 1.8t Challenge last summer. Cool guy. Lon took him out on the road course at California Speedway in his Avant (that phucker got the cover too). They gave all the participants a pair of shoes (style of their choice). Cept Paul went and picked the ugliest pair of the bunch... oh well, no accounting for good taste I guess.
The video was entertaining. can we just leave it at that.
It's a phucked up world when I'm the one playing - "can't we all just get along?"
I love L.A.

Best comment of the day.
Back to the video (the real purpose of this thread)....
It was fun to watch. The music works nicely with the accelerated clips. I have to agree that the rolled up jeans didn't do it for me. Unless, you were cutting back and forth between that shot and the footwell of a real race car to show that it's the same shoes. I think that'd be cool.
But what do I know? I'm just a non-Hollywood bottom feeder. ;)
