Pre-Hodges Julian Run

Thanks to Steve's suggestion in the Hodges BBQ (http://www.socaleuro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5621) thread, I think we just might have to make the Julian run before Hodges a reality. So, come on down for some pre-bbq fun!

What: Caravan to Hodges by way of Julian
When: Saturday, June 18th
Meeting Time: 7:30AM
Meeting Spot: Clairemont Kripsy Kreme - Click for map (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=4180+Clairemont+Mesa+Blvd.,+San+Diego,+CA&hl=en)

I've also attached an overview map of the route. It's going to be about 110 miles from Krispy Kreme to Hodges and we should be arriving at Hodges around noon.

okay, i got back from my cousin's graduation party at around 5pm, passed out on my bed and now its 4am. but i have to say, the julian run was something everybody has to try. my very first run, good gah, it was fun. i thought i pushed my car in the past, but this is something else. on a couple of corners, i found myself going alittle too fast. my car doesn't have alot of suspension mods, just stock struts, h&r sport springs and a tower strut bar...really mild mods. but i think i pushed the limit of my driving abilities on a couple of turns. i was uncertain how to read the corners, alot of which are really blind, trying to read richard's car (really difficult, just kidding!!! =), when he would intiate a turn, braking, downshifting and accelerating, omg, i love the sound of the VR's!!! btw, downshift before the turn, not in the middle of it...hey im learning =) and the art of road manners, passing lanes, and stuff like that. crazy ass locals!!!

other than the incident, richard and the nissan exterra, the drive was fun, got me all sweaty and stuff. there was a mini cooper group out too, going the opposite direction. oh and that was one sweet 360 modena?

anyways, great run guys. thank goodness, no run in with johnny law. even though there were only a handful of us, it was fun. and no accidents. **knocks on wood** maybe next time find out how many noobies are running and give them a brief explaination on what to expect, road rules, and how to gauge a corner. :smokem:

It took us about 3 1/2 to 4 hours to do the entire loop. But that also included 3 15-20 minute stops to cool the cars down and regroup.
