Selling alpine white gti. will get pictures up soon. need to sell asap. i have to many cars. car is very clean. it is lowered. dual head lights smog legal brospeed header. comes with a 279 degrea cam (not installed for smog reason) corrado steelies, audi chrome handles. more info to come.

bugz look at the head line. i should mention this price is firm.
ya i saw your gti at hootiers. i didnt stop in cause the place was packed.

i should mention i allso have a 1.8t with 8k miles and a g60 trans for a swap for an additional $1500

i have a parking pass so i dont have to find change for the meter. the car has 258,000 but runs like a champ. it actualy runs better than my 92 with 148,000. it is an 8v. and the previous owner removed the third brake light. any questions let me know, or call me at 760 721 3011. ask for Burdick (last name)

i can't go no less than $3000 for the package deal. just because if i don't sell the 1.8t then ill put it into my 92 gti. the trans comes with pedal cluster , shifter, cables, master cylinder, resivoir. the trans will bolt right up to the c/v's.

it shouldn't be an 8v if it is a 1990 GTI, unless it is a 1/2 year thing
i do know for a fact it should have 9.4 rotors up front, but as far as i know the last year of the 8v GTI was 1989 (im not positive though)

and 3000 is a deal you cannot pass up, if i had the room to put it and the ability to work on it i would set my jetta aside and get this

yes the car is an 8v. 92 was the last year of the 8v. this is a killer deal with or without the 1.8t. just wanted to give you guys first dibs before i post it up. thats the other problem im having. no room. my roomates hate my collection of cars. so most of them must go. so that why im selling so cheap.

$1500 for the car and another $1500 for the 1.8T (does it have wiring and accesories?) and trans? damn good price. I wish I had room also, fiddle sticks. I already have one car I can't get around to finishing though

it includes engine accesories and a wireing harness all the way to the fuse box. i stripped a 2003 jetta 1.8t (engine code awp 180 hp) with 8k miles. i took every thing. it does need an intake manifold and a oil filter housing and maybe an ecu. unless you go with a after market engine management system.

that makes no sense every 1991 and 1992 GTI i have seen had a 2.0L 16v

why did VW make an 8v and 16v GTI at the same time???

Good question. I know the 16v's are considered "good finds" since mkII's were made with both. As to why.... why are the mk4's so chubby? Why is a neon faster than my car for cheaper? VW does some odd things sometimes. ;)

I like 16V's but an 8V can be pretty hairy with a little workand just as fast. nothing a little head work and an ABA 2.0 block cant fix. Damien,PM me when you want a little more out of your car and I'll point you in the right direction

Yep they did make both of then at the same time. I those 8v's were Digifant FI.

You could ask the same question why did they make the MK3's in a 2.0L and a VR6 at the same time. Also same goes for the MK4 they have it in a 2.0L, 1.8T and VR6. Some people just don't need the performace so they go for the base model.

I had a 92 8V GTI once upon a time... Yes there were two engine choices after they introduced the 16V's. Those 8v's will run forever.

Yeah, I think all the small bumpered (85-89) 8v's were Motronic, with the Digifant 1.8's 90-92. I think this is when OBD2 was introduced, because the Digi had some electronic engine management that the Motronic doesn't (but I'm not positive on this).

The small bumpered 16v's were 1.8's, then they went to the 2.0s 90-92. There were other subtle mods made to the exterior/interior of the 16v to make it stand out more, just like the MK4 1.8T's and the VR6's.

VW has been doing this forever... and they'll continue to do so cuz we are all suckazzzzzzz!
