You took those pics Paul? You got your panning technique down! I see a motion blurred cone but perfectly in-focus car! Wow.

Paul

yeah i took those, my panning with the D2h is the svck. for some reason I'm just all over the place. The D70 is easier to pan for me, and i get much better shots with it on avg... luckily the 8-10fps on the D2h covers for my mistakes

I see... post the numbers on another forum. Does someone not want to advertise that a guy in dress shoes, khaki pants, and a collared shirt laid the smack down on Quattrogirl with a <gasp>TT?</gasp>

There was a MKI out there that was on three wheels all the way around the turns... wheel was up like a foot just hanging there not spinning... it was awesome.

Auto X is easily the most fun you can have in a car.... and I've had alot of fun in cars.

Also Manny get your ass out there and I'll get some sick shots of your car too.

Hell yes! We need to get an entire row in staging full of audi/vw's again. we used to have 6-8 people autox and they would go "here comes the row of Audi's/VWs!" We need more participation!

Yep, that's my little sexy A2 out there

BTW, I was the guy working the start for you guys in the fun runs. It was great seeing more VAG vehicles on the track. Seems like Paul spends all his time out on the track with his camera and not his car. Of course I don't mind because he always comes up with some sick action shots ;)

The 20th was retired and sold for a budget auto-xer

Seriously. But I don't know how I feel about the whole "rent-a-helmet" thing. It's pretty gross. I guess I could wear a hairnet or bandana.

I had to use one... its not that bad.

What sucks is I have my own helmet but I wasn't expecting to have to spank quattrogirl so it wasn't in my car. :D

You guys dont want to be pulling three wheels, less lift eqauls more tires on the ground, more tires on the ground equals more traction.

Look for an SA2000 helmet, or if you can wait till fall, SA2005.

My cars ready...I need to get a new water pump as I seem to have sprung a leak in that area and get my splash guard for the oil pan in. I might even get new pads as I havent changed them since I bought the car, stopping is fine now..but worried about fade...

What does participating consist of dollar wise, and equiptment I will need, also do you do cone duty before you get to race?

This one was 10 dollars for a day membership + 35 to race + 1 for the numbers + 2 dollars for each run after the actual event.

You need a helmet and a tech inspection which is basically making sure your wheels are on and nothing is going to fly off your car.

I wound up borrowing cash from paul and jay to register because I hadn't been to an ATM and didn't expect to be running.

I recommend everyone to just purchase a close face helmet in case they get into road racing. You'd be surprised what flies in through your windows and hits you in the face.

It's actually pretty cheap when you consider all the fun you have.
But for some reason it gets more expensive every time you race...

It's addicting and you start spending all your money on all sorts of different mods. Go-fast parts for the track are different than go-fast parts for the street and HP bragging rights. Suspension, tires, roll bars/cages, camber plates, seats and harnesses...it gets expensive once you really try to compete.
But I found it is cheaper and a lot more safe than my previous hobby/passion-motocross. After breaking both of my feet and getting half of Home Depot's hardware department surgically implanted into my foot, I decided to switch to 4 wheels ;)

There are a couple of guys that run a booth at the events that were selling those for $110-$120.

C2 Motorsports is there name (shameless plug)
It's a great helmet for the price, apparently it's a Bell mold. I bought one a couple of months ago from them.

I'd agree since it's also useful for karting. Only issue with that is, autoxing = lots of in car time not moving, good idea to have open face for that.

I'll probably borrow one for the first time, just wear a bandana and spray it with Lysol beforehand. I don't want to invest in a closed faced one for a few hundo and end up not liking it (not likely, but you never know). And I guess I could get one that fits me and Rob both.

I still cant decide on which one i will pick up. The more practical one for me would be the bell but i love omp's design. Ill probably just go with the cheapest.

hehehe i wonder who has more tows on AAA me or you. new millenium corrado owner. ;) if you had an og corrado you could use the sun roof or the spoiler as a signal instead of hazards.
