Low and behold I have hit the 60k mark on my 2001.5 1.8T, the question that I have for the audi guru's out there is what constitutes the 60k service and am I able to do it myself. (new spark plugs, filter, etc)? also who could I speak to, to get the damn "service" words off my screen? Thanks everybody for the help....and yes I am aware of the TB replacement btwn 60-80K miles

Timing Belt is the biggie along with the water pump and the assorted pulleys and tensioners. Plus the other you mentioned. Look at the service manual/record that you got with the car.

Look to sent over a grand.

I had Ron Wood at VW Specialities do it for around $700.

Im going to buy the ultimate TB kit from ECStuning, I helped install one already last year into my friends pearl audi 1.8T, it was a 2000 if I remember...it was a PITA but worth saving some bucks

If you can do the timing belt by yourself, for sure you can do the rest (air filter, spark plugs..etc )

here is some easy steps to reset the service interval light ,it's also written in your owner's manual,go check it out

1.Insert your key into the ignition.

2.Push in the odometer reset button, hold it in, and turn the key to the first click.

3.The display should read either "oil" or "service" if it does not, repeat steps #1 and #2.

4.To reset, pull out your instrument light dimmer button at the bottom of the tachometer.

5.Turn the ignition to the off position. When the ignition is turned back on, the display should be back to the trip odometer.

How hard is this?? I am close to 60 k to and want to make sure I get the belt done. I can do just about anything on a car, but is it worth saving yourself the PITA and have someone else do it.
