Hey guys Check this out. My names Rob and I used to go to the GTG at starbucks in riverside on thursday nights. UNTIL I started school at UTI. SO here it is. UTI as a program where every 4 or 5 months they give there students and there guests a chance to street race at the california speedway. I have in my posession 2 free ALL DAY race passes if anyone would like to come out and join IT IS ALL FREE (and you get your own pit stop)I talked to one of the guys at school and he said it was cool if people came out. So if anyone would like to come out and join or just watch, maybe we could have a min gtg there. Write me up at Luvnsocal247@aol.com or post a thread here for more info or race rules. Hope to see you out there

I'll speak up.

NcTTrnl and I will take the passes :D and continue the "match" we started last weekend at AutoCross.. :smokem:

Uh, where's Calif Speedway exactly?

And what are the rules, do we have to have cages & suits for this? Is it "wheel to wheel racing" or more of a street school approach w/ instructors?

How do we purchase insurance on our cars for the event (prolly the question I should ask first eh)?

thanks~!

I guess the gauntlet, or racing glove as the case may be, has been thrown down again.

Bring it on!

Yah sure. :D
Let's see what the rules regarding passing & safety are, but I'm game.
But isn't this driving on an oval?
Uhhh I'm a n00b at that one!

Oval? In our cars we might as well just do the quarter mile.

I agree though, I'd like to know how the track is run before committing.

It is a quarter-mile straight away. You have to have current registration and insurance to race. NO ROLL CAGES necessary but you do need a helmet/gloves/pants/jacket (any type) DOT approved helmet. NHRA officials will be there inspecting cars too just to ensure that they are safe. I would like to get a turn out of EURO's even to just hang out. (IF YOUR CAR IS UNDER A 10 SEC CAR...... DONT BOTHER!!!!) they wont be allowed to race. Nitrous is allowed but has to be secured properly(i.e. no duct tape) Any other question/comments please feel free to ask

Thanks Again
