A day at Qualcom, race legal.

well Justin, Brian, Jay and I "also justin" decide to go to the races. all in our S4's jay's is still in the shop so just three S4's .. justin B destroyed pretty much everyone. but bad luck for us tip guys... brain and i couldnt launch the tips as we wanted. and in process of launching i fried my TCU , transmission control unit. and there for making my transission shift like SH*T and the the boost came on late, and im only chipped... then brian and his S gave him problems, 5 codes on the vag. gas heat sensor. boost leak, and more.. wow it was still fun but hitting 2.45 60' isnt something to brag about. im going to get my TCU fixed and the re-try.

Sounds like fun! Sorry to hear about the transmission though.

I'm pulling my car apart today to figure out what the hell went wrong with it on friday morning and I will be out for sure next week. Last week I was just to tired to futz with it.

yea well its not the transmission it self its the control unit which i read on biturbos4.com that it is a system that syncronizes the shifts, so now it is still drivable i just fried a chip in other words.. its going in this week..

:smokem: and justin thats with a bad clutch.. i remember before going to qualcom justin calls me to meet up with me and brian and says "i dont know man my clutch is slipping in high rev's" so we meet up and he still beats us at the track. while me and brian were getting 10.1 1/8 and 2.2 60' not great but were both trowing codes so i gotta check that and re-try. i think boost leak and the TCU. so we'll see..

Let me know the next time you go, I can give you a good run in my A4. I will even run at my lowest 10-12psi boost setting.

1.8 t a4 or the 2.8/3.0 cuz its fixed and halls balls. i dobt any a4 out there will run with me. unless you slapped on a bi turbo kit on there v-6 but the 1.8 w a ko4 has nothing.. and run with your full boost it wont matter either way.

If you run high 8's at the Q I think you will be the one having a problem beating my A4 1.8t. But if you want I am sure we can put a friendly bet on that race. You might want to do a quick back ground check on who I am, but then you might not want to race me. Just pick up the Dec issue of EC for the EC 1.8t challenge and look for the A4 that beat all the tuners at the drags by a full second.

How come I never see your car run down at race legal??? I all ways had a hard time getting the "Audi" group to show up---I all ways got tons of audi people saying they will show up, but to actually show up, that is the trick.

Hehe. I think your Tip equipped S4 would have a rough time keeping up with CMH's A4. Saying that no A4 could keep up with you is a pretty big claim. There's a few A4's in the 12's and one in the 11's.

I am impressed with the performance you're getting from a Tip S4 though. Just be careful you don't burn up the clutch bands with the torque braking. :D

I know that CMH is out of town right now and won't be back for a few weeks.

Those are big claims you are making since all you have is a chip. You might be surprised what some people cars can put down. There are alot of 1.8t out there that could easily run with you.

400 hp is still a little weak. I have put down 434 WHP(24psi) with a cat, that put me right around 550 hp at the crank. Once I am fully tuned I should be putting down 500+ at the wheels and running deep into the 11's. Only thing holding me back is my MAF and getting enough fuel because of it.


Let me know the next time you go to the track and I will show up. But I wont be around in a few weeks since I am flying out to the east coast for the Waterfest event. Dont worry I only race for the fun of it, I also race in the Summit series which is mostly all V8 automatics. They hate seeing me show up because I usually have a faster dial in then the Vettes, GTO's and most F-body's in the sportsmen class.

BTW, practice that tree because you will need it when you line up against me. You can find my picture on the NHRA sport compact site for the Pomona Nationals, I am the guy that won the $500 for a perfect light :smokem:
