Where the hell is all the media coverage on this?
CNN story (http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/05/18/bush.georgia/index.html).
A hand grenade found in the crowd as U.S. President George W. Bush spoke in Tblisi, Georgia last week was live and could have exploded, U.S. and Georgian officials have said.
....
"A hand grenade was tossed in the general direction of the main stage and landed within 100 feet of the podium," the U.S. Embassy statement said.
...
A reward of 20,000 laris ($10,978 US) is being offered in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible, the embassy statement said.
Yes, you heard right, our President is only worth $11,000. And that read $9,000 only hours ago. Apparently the Georgian currency is having a great day.

It was seriously downplayed in the media.
Just goes to show how much control the media has and how it can either direct or divert our attention to or from whatever it is they want us to know.
I'm sure they wanted to downplay it because the govt doesn't want us thinking that people want our president dead. Or to assure our "safety" and stability in our "fearless leader".

I saw it too, but it was really just a blurb on the news. Not much coverage at all... kinda like gwb's cocaine habit. Compared to clintons marijuana usage, gwb's drug use was barely covered.
Personally I'd rather have a pothead in office, than a speedfreek tweeker

I watch the news every day for two hours while eating lunch. The only thing I remember from last week is the two dead little girls and the Florida Malesters. This week it's two dead kids. (sister and brother) I guess when he dies we will hear about it.

They're downplaying this one because they looked like idiots for overhyping the Cessna last week.
I mean, c'mon, 100ft.? That's not even close to wounding range, let alone lethal.

I have actually. And I've also seen pictures of where the grenade was found, and quite frankly, I don't think it had a chance of wounding the pres.

It's possible, I suppose.
Would have been interesting if it had gone off, even if the pres. wasn't injured.

I find the filibuster-up-down grenade about to go off in the Senate far more interesting than a dud in Georgia.

Now see? All you need to do is fire up a thread's political stance and Alan'll be on it like butter on toast.

If toast always lands buttered side down, and cats always land on their feet, ever wonder what will happen if you drop a cat with toast tied butter-side up to its back?

Who ties buttered toast to a cat?
honestly who throws his shoe.
Who's to say GWB was even the target? Maybe the Georgian President was the target and the thrower just saw an opportunity.

Valid point. GWB was probably just a bonus.
Then again, an old woman in a Russian village blames us for the overnight disappearance of a lake (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050519/od_nm/odd_russia_lake_dc/nc:757), so you just can't tell.
Well dammit, the secret is out. I have to admit, it was us. I was on that mission. Outsmarted by an old Russian woman again.
