This meet is setup for the Friday AFTER finals week, this Friday the 20th.
Essentially the meet location is the all-popular old-Ikea/New Best Buy parking lot, right off the I-5 at Jamboree, in the Tustin Marketplace. This is a popular setting for Orange County meets because of its central location.
Once everyone gets there, at 8PM, we will hang out/discuss cars/etc. - there is no set drive, but if there is demand for one Santiago Canyon is one way and PCH is the other way; if there is demand it wouldn't be difficult to arrange a drive on either (or both).
Address of Best Buy:
2982 El Camino Real
Tustin, CA 92782
Tustin Marketplace website:
http://www.shopthemarketplace.com (http://www.shopthemarketplace.com/)
Once you turn onto Jamboree from the I-5 you make a left into the marketplace, Best Buy is in the corner by Linens & Things.
There are also a number of fast food restaurants in the area, including an In N Out burger, Taco Bell, Carl's Jr, El Pollo Loco.

Yes there is, the Ikea (which was empty for several years) is now a Best Buy.
me no likey, bad mojo.
Seriously, bad spot, we have our normal haunts that the buisnesses know the group as being quiet and we never get bothered. But the last time I went to a meet at the old Ikea, it was a bunch of kids in BMW's (sorry don't get offended) that were spinning dougnuts in the parking lot, so the cops were there in 10 minutes to give everyone the boot.
Why not just meet us at one of the other O.C. meets. people come from all over. I come from south O.C. and its a 15 min. drive to Hooters.

It's a bit too late to change the venue, considering the event is this Friday... I have been to several meets (a dozen+) at this location and have never had any problems... I heard about problems with a mustang meet there once, but that was some time ago. It is used by bimmers, vw's, evo's, s2ks, mustangs, etc.
I doubt there will be any kind of issue as long as everything is under control... it's a big lot, and at 8PM Fri night there will be plenty of space.

I believe he is against the practice of taking pictures at meets prior to doing "stupid shit"; as there will be no "stupid shit" at this meet it is perfectly okay to take pictures, this is not a street racing venue, it's a german car GTG to celebrate summer... If a drive does occur, which is likely, it will be a cruise - not a 100mph+ race.

tustin ranch market does not allow you to take pictures with any buildings or signs in the frame. whether you take pictures or not is your choice. by no means im againist your meet or taking pictures but i am giving you fair warning because the security there is strict. just becuase you drive german, doesnt mean security wont care. i was there with a bunch of carrozerria, e46fanatics, other german cars and they were dicks. i dunno if there policy is change, im not stopping you but i know several people and gtgs that have had a poor outcome. best of luck

The point of the matter here is not about taking pictures,,, we are disscussing about a GTG that is not well arranged and it's to soon of a notice!!! Moreever, TPD and IPD as it was said are very stricted about GTG's and I think many remember what happened at the UCI meet !!!

From what I've been told over on allwheeljunkies.com there has been a regular Thursday night meet there for EVO/WRX/SRT4's for a long time and they don't get hassled by security.

there's a difference between like....10-15 cars and a meet advertized on several forums....

Some additional details:
- The meet is set for the parking lot at 8PM, this Friday (20th).
- The meet is going to last approx 1.5->2hrs, this is not set in stone as these kinds of guidelines are usually not followed.
- The cruise, if there is demand for one, will be a short one - the idea is to caravan down Jamboree to PCH, take PCH to Broadway, Broadway up to El Toro, and end at the Circuit City on El Toro & the I-5, this will be ~45 minutes worth of cruise.
So, for those asking about ending times, figuire about 10PM-ish if you're not going on the caravan, or around 11PM if you are. This is an informal setup, but expect around 25-30 cars from various forums.

I'll stop by since it's a few miles away. If I'm feeling it, I'll hang out. If not, oh well.
you gonna go? I'm might go to check it out, as I will be a small VW and not a Bimmer, I hope I will be OK. F*%# I haven't had a drink yet and I need to get out of the house. Hey Nick, you get that package I sent you?
