Did he get a new motor within a few days to get the car out there?
Not sure. You'd have to ask shawn or joey.

No, Chris and crew at DRS came to the rescue after breaking an exhaust valve on the dyno on Tuesday. If your gonna break on the dyno, DRS is the place to be.
Chris is a stand up guy and thrashed on the car to get it ready for fridays events. Dyno runs were at 7pm thursday night. It still needs a head but they made adequate repairs to get us thru the event. Joe made it home @midnight and got 2 hours sleep.
5am im snoozing hard only to be awaken by somebody revving in my yard. An eye cracks open and in a daze im thinking ive over slept and fly out of bed in a frenzy. I come to my senses and realize Joe is an hour early. my phone rings, its Joe. "Hi Shawn, we need to change my rear wheel bearing". So to it we go and get it changed in time to get on the road on time.
My hopes of dominating the road race dwindled on the way to the track. Seems the turbo bolts were stripping out the threads on the turbo causing a massive exhaust leak between the exhaust manifold and the turbo.
Efforts to tighten them up only result in another exhaust leak minutes later. at the track we limp the car around just trying to get a time and hoping we dont finish DFL. We just tried to finish all the events which we did but not very well. One goal at a time, then we limped it home and made it! Was a long day for a lame result but hey, sometimes when you race, you break shit. :p
Ahh well, saw some really trick cars there and had alot of fun hanging with the Socal fellas!!

Light, strong, relatively cheap, clears BBK's, and looks sweet... can't beat that combination =)

As a courtesy to European Car we're all respecting their right to be the official source of any competition results. After all, they put a lot of work and $ into this event and we're all grateful to have been invited to participate.
The car pictured was (of course) a 1.8t w/ a chip, front mount, and some mild suspesion. The owner, John (I think - bad bad bad w/ names), from Tucson (Hold the jokes) was a really great and genuine guy. He hung out w/ the SoCal crew the whole time and we wish him the best.

yup John was super cool ... as well all the entrants that hung out with us ...
was very surprised to see all the tuners and enthusiasts being true to each other ... there was not crazy anonymousity there ... everyone hoped everyone got a fair chance to show their cars off
all the tuners were all neutral ...
couple times i saw them helping each other out with parts etc etc ...
very impressed by the professionalism
